The Centre des monuments nationaux, in partnership with the Ville de Carcassonne, called on Amaclio Productions this year again to create, direct and produce a summer night stroll inside the château, inviting the visitors to extend their perception of the City in a unique way. Amaclio Productions is renowned for its successful shows such as La Nuit aux Invalides or Les Luminessences d’Avignon. The two first shows in Carcassonne gathered 60 000 spectators since 2018.
What is the Centre des monuments nationaux?
Conserve, restore and maintain the monuments and collections under its responsibility by conducting operations aimed at preventing their degradation and extending their length of life, under the scientific and technical supervision of the departments of the Ministry of culture and communication.
Open to visitors and run nearly 100 national monuments belonging to the State and distributed throughout whole country: the abbey of Mont-Saint-Michel, the Château d'Angers and the Château d'Azay-le-Rideau, the castle and ramparts of Carcassonne, the Arc de Triomphe and the Sainte-Chapelle, to but name a few. The CMN aims to make these monuments accessible to the greatest number of people, particularly from priority groups (living far away from institutional culture or with disabilities), and to contribute to the artistic and cultural education policy, in particular by receiving many school audiences.
Promote the participation of national monuments in cultural life and the development of tourism with nearly 400 events a year, in consultation with the regional cultural departments, local authorities and cultural institution networks.
